Monetary Clarification

  • All monetary references for this pool are in Canadian Dollars.
  • All payouts will be made in Canadian dollars.
  • If any payments for dues are made in American dollars, they will be done at par (e.g. if 2 Team Selection and 2 Pick Em All pools entered, total due would be: $55 CDN - if paying in American, it'll be $55 USD).
  • If someone who paid in USD wins money, they will be paid out in Canadian and will deal with any exchange fees/conversion costs themselves as the pool will not be sending USD e-transfers.

Team Selection:
  •  The payout for the pool will be determined based on the number of entries. First, Second and Third will be paid out.
  •  The first entry per person is a cost of $15CDN and each subsequent entry costs $10CDN
  •  All entries MUST be received prior to the first game played of the Round of 64.
  •  You MUST enter this pool in order to participate in the Pick Em All pool.
  •  Round scoring will change round by round:
    • Opening Round: 0 points (Play-in Games Winners)
    • Round of 64: 10 points (Round of 64 Winners
    • Round of 32: 15 points (Round of 32 Winners)
    • Round of 16: 25 points (Sweet 16 Winners)
    • Round of 8: 50 points (Elite 8 Winners)
    • Round of 4: 100 points (Final Four Winners)
    • Round of 2: 200 points (Champion)
    • Maximum points available: 1360 (with no upset, scoring or defense bonus points awarded)
  •  Bonus Points:
    • Scoring - bonus points will be awarded for teams that score 95 points or more. A team scoring 95 earns 1 bonus point, 96 earns 2...100 earns 6 and so on. There is no Round Multiplier.
    • Defense - bonus points will be awarded for teams that hold their opposition to 50 points or less. A team holding their opposition to 50 points earns 1 bonus point, 49 earns 2...45 earns 6 and so on. There is no Round Multiplier.
    • Upsets - if a lower seed beats a higher seed (ex. a #12 beats a 5), that results in a round specific bonus. The difference between the seeds will be multiplied by the Round Multiplier resulting in the Bonus Points. For example:
      • Round 1: No points are earned in from the "First Four" games.
      • Round 2: Difference between the seeds * 1 (ex. 12 beats 5 = 12-5 = 7*1 = 7 Bonus Pts)
      • Round 3: Difference between the seeds * 2 (ex. 7 beats a 2 = 7-2 = 5*2 = 10 Bonus Pts)
      • Sweet 16: Difference between the seeds * 3 (ex. 4 beats a 1 = 4-1 = 3*3 = 9 Bonus Pts)
      • Elite 8: Difference between the seeds * 4 (ex. 7 beats a 4 = 7-4 = 3*4 = 12 Bonus Pts)
      • Final 4: Difference between the seeds * 5 (ex. 7 beats a 1 = 7-1 = 6*5 = 30 Bonus Pts)
      • Championship: Difference between the seeds * 6 (ex. 7 beats a 7 = 7-7 = 0*6 = 0 Bonus Pts)
      • If two teams meet with the same seed (only possible in the semi finals or championship game), no bonus points will be awarded for upsets.
  •  If a tie results in the final standings, the following steps will outline the tie-break:
    • Retrogression will be used throughout the tie breaking system, but as is the case in the Pick Em All pool, the retrogression will only go back to removing the semi-final games to determine if a clear cut winner is determined.
    • The first step in the retrogression involves removing the championship game from the standings (only for the people involved in the tie), whichever person has more points will be deemed the champion.
    • If still tied, the removal of the semi-final games will be done and the person with the most points will be deemed the victor.
    • If still tied, the parties involved will split the money. If 1st and 2nd tie, the money set aside for both positions will be combined and divided by two and paid out to each person. The same rule will be involved if 2nd and 3rd are tied, or if all three are tied. Should 3rd place be tied, the money for 3rd will be split between the parties involved if the tie-breaker does not result in a clear victor
  • Your entry will involve selecting a total of sixteen (16) teams, varying in seeds as noted below:
